Sally Mair - Loving life

some colour

I decided last night to give church a miss today as I was so tired yesterday. I've had bursts of energy today, but still tired. It may be a combination of emotions from last week and long driving days. Who knows. I do know I don't bounce up as quickly as I used to.
I made a good start though and cleaned out the fish tank just after Colin got back from church. The next job was to make a chicken casserole to give to the girls this week - also achieved so that was good.
Ali was coming over after Josie's nap, so I made a batch of jam tarts, I reckoned they would be popular and I was right .
In the course of making jam tarts I found a forgotten batch of mince pies left over from Christmas. We had two each for pudding this evening. They were jolly good can't think why we didn't eat them sooner. A few more are left for another time.
My Blip today is in my sister's planter on the front garden, I'd noticed some growth and today when I had a closer look this iris was waiting for me. A welcome splash of colour, they are one of my spring favourites. I've quite a few clumps of snowdrops about to burst into flat and some crocus too. I hope the weather doesn't knock everything back again.
