Littlest hobo
Day 173 - only one word to describe this day E-VENT-FUL!!
After dropping the boy at his dads for an Xbox wkend, went ooop Knypersley for a ramble and take in some of the historic / pagan spots.
En route back to stuntweasel's we nearly ran over this pup who ran across the country lane. We went back to look for him and found him cowering in the hedgerow obviously in a bad way - cuts across his face, an eye lost. After much head scratching and phone calls to useless organisations (yes you the RSPCA) about what to do with him, called an emergency vet that just happened to be a shelter too.
In the meantime the local coppers had started to 'look' at stuntweasel's van suspiciously parked up the lane (we'd already been checked out by a local farmer who thought we were nicking his walling). Fortunately we'd managed to coax lil scar face out and the police were able to confirm where we should take him.
The lil pup was good as gold sitting on my lap and even curled up and had a nap - probably the comfiest bed he's had his whole life.
To cut an already long story short, after being seen by a vet the pup is in fact at least 1 year severely damaged / emancipated fighting dog that had either escaped or had been dumped. Times like these I lose faith in the rest of society.
However, the lil pupster is now safe, will be looked after, and hopefully re-homed. We both ummed and aarhd about whether either of us could keep him especially as he was such a lovely characterful bouncy thing who'd taken quite a shine to us both eventually.
Finally got back at 10.30 with a diiiirrrteee kebab meat and chips with too much chilli sauce supper.
Dang!
