Here there and everywhere

Winter Sun

A productive day. I finished the standardisation training successfully for a new upcoming online marking project with Japanese teenagers. We go live at the end of this week and it will run for two months twice a year. It’s quite different to the marking for general English and we’ll all need to remember to change our hats when we switch from General English to this! As with all new things, it will take longer at the start to mark, but will hopefully get easier. This is an achievement task, rather than a proficiency test (like General Aptis) and so there’s ‘task achievement’ to consider, which has equal weight to language. There are also marking ‘ceilings’ to consider. The format of the actual tests is also very different. All new!

I made a big pot of chilli con carne and spaghetti bolognese  for the freezer. There’s quite a busy period coming up soon and this will help us to get into a routine and eat in….hopefully!

I didn’t have a great night’s sleep as I was anxious about Bb getting into Singapore - see his blip for yellow fever certificate story! His flight landed at 4.30am my time, so sleep was almost nil till after that, meaning a later rise than usual.

Nice weather here at the moment - cold but sunny and blue skies. My blip is on our stretch of Calle Nicaragua, just round the corner.
