Sunday jobs
A day at home to catch up on jobs - mostly tiresome but necessary - ironing, cleaning, washing - as well as making spicy parsnip soup for weekday lunches which I don't mind so much. I also made a double batch of aubergine chilli - one for dinner tomorrow and one for freezing. Now that the boys are mainly gone it's always a thought to cook dinner after work when it's just the two of us, so it's good to have meals in the freezer to call upon on days of particular weariness! Given the dark and dreary weather outside, we put the log burner on and I read yesterday's weekend paper while OH made up a playlist of last night's gig at the Barrowlands. We then booked train tickets from Prague to Berlin for our upcoming trip in April. Thinking we should probably get some fresh air, we did eventually venture out, suited and booted, for a short walk round the local streets. Despite the persistent rain there's no sign so far of the winds predicted with Storm Isha. OH says he read somewhere we might in fact miss it, although I'm not sure where he's getting his information!
