Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow

An evening in Glasgow at the Barrowlands to see the 'Roaming Roots Revue' show - part of the city's Celtic Connections festival. Curated and hosted by Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire, the show featured the fantastic Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Symphony Orchestra, conducted by John Logan, joined by Eddi Reader, Justin Currie, Hamish Hawk, Emma Pollock, Roddy Woomble and Rod Jones from Idlewild, Sarah Hayes and Louis Abbott from Admiral Fallow, Tracyanne Campbell from Camera Obscura, Brownbear and the Trash Can Sinatras. The artists sang some of their own songs, as well as songs from other favourite Scottish artists.  The aim (according to the blurb) -  'honouring the most phenomenal modern music - and musicians - our country has ever produced'.  It was a hugely enjoyable evening, and the first time I've been over the threshold since Tuesday due to that horrible cold virus.
