Banyuls

I had to be up at six am to be in Banyuls for a 9 am start. The club rivals our own for its splendid setting. I wasn’t feeling great having suffered with a cold for the last couple of days. That meant I was not at my best and it was only four degrees when we started playing. We suffered a heavy defeat as all of us lost against the best team in the division. Nevertheless, we received a friendly welcome and the atmosphere was pleasant. We shared some lunch and returned home. I briefly called in at our own courts to see how the ladies were getting on. Unfortunately, one of the team had to retire hurt and it looked when I left as if the best they could achieve was a draw.
