Kocatepe Mosque

After Afghanistan, I couldn't believe I was allowed to enter a mosque being (1) a non-Muslim (2) a woman [BTW, Afghan women's access to mosques is a complicated topic]. I was charmed by the ambiance inside! It's definitely kind of place where one could try to establish contact with God.

According to Lonely Planet, it's one of the worlds' largest mosques. Massive chandelier, surrounded by decorative smaller balls, is highly impressive and responsible for this incredible atmosphere of the place.
