Celtic Connections Day 1
Another cold night meant slippy pavements but managed to make it to the bus stop without incident. Time for a coffee before our bus to Glasgow which wasn’t too crowded and ran to time.
Met up with our friends at the hotel and we caught up over a drink before our early dinner at Ting Thai Caravan. Delicious and just what we needed.
The opening concert at the Royal Concert hall was well attended but obviously not to some people’s taste as the seats beside us weren’t filled after the interval! 3 acts - a danish trio called Dreamer’s Circus kicked the evening off. They were followed by Rachel Sermani, a Scottish singer with a beautiful voice and then an interval before the main event, Chris Thiel accompanied by the Scottish Symphony Orchestra. A little eclectic but I enjoyed it.
We were joined by 2 other friends and we all headed to a nearby wine bar where they kindly reopened their upstairs seating area for us to enjoy a catch up.
Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting AbstractThursday. A view through my empty reusable cup of the stage from our seats in the gods.
Back blipped Saturday for Thursday.
