Gone bananas in Hermigua

Ethnology museums, with attached gardens (bananas, papayas, mangoes, star fruit, lettuces) lots of information about ceramics, silk and flax, gofio (flour made from roasted grains and roots) and the export connections. The North side was experiencing a big sea crashing in and we scampered along various bits of coastline. Later developments in some parts of the island reveal seedy goings on (Brinks Matt and time share links) and the sad state of abandoned developments. It’s a fascinating place with thousands of years of history and 12 million years of geology.
