Janet at Weston Park
Here's Janet outside the fabulous stately home Weston Park near Telford in Shropshire. www.weston-park.com
To the left is the wonderful Orangery which was used as the conference room for the 1998 G8 meeting with the likes of Boris Yeltsin, Tony Blair and Bill Clinton present.
We'd just had the most marvelous lunch with a particulary memorable berry cheesecake, so light that it almost floated into your mouth.
Other notables who've marvelled at it include PG Wodehouse who supposedly used it as the basis for Blandings and benjamin Disraeli who said,
"You will find Weston beautiful. I marvel whether I shall ever see the like of it again! It is a place that always pleased me."
He wasn't wrong it's truly magnificent with a dining room to die for, original antiques, fantastic art collection with paintings by Van Dyck and Lely and where I had one of the best nights sleep ever.
A truly beautiful place!
