End of the Pier

For some time now we have been able to see laser beams from our garden. Not obtrusive. A distant subtle flash. Didn’t know where they came from until recently when we had a night walk past Paignton  pier.
We walked that way tonight. It was cold but moonlit, and the beams  blue. The birdwatcher went to Powderham today. Bird of the day was a Marsh Harrier x 2.
It was my book group. We are squatters. We met in Paignton library cafe. It was very busy so not a great success. Could not really hear a thing. And no one had read the book. Homeless and lazy. How can we call ourselves a book club.
