Skiing in Abriachan

Flurries of snow during the night had added another 1/2 inch or so to the snow, and the snowplows had been along the Abriachan road, so went up that way with H+C --- we were the only car in the car park, which had 6 inches of snow!  I took my thin touring skis today, after yesterday's experience I didn't want to risk my Alpine skis.  These are much less controllable than Alpine skis, they wouldn't be any use for going up or down more serious hills, but they are perfect for undulating forestry tracks.  I use special waxes to get some purchase for gentle uphill, but the skis still did slip slightly on steeper sections of the track. So today's blip is skiing in Abriachan woods, and the extra is our lunch spot.  It's been many years since I've had the opportunity to do this in Scotland.
