Ice Church

Bitterly cold today (minus 35 degrees) 

Jane walked to the shops in the nearby village of Inari.   I went on an ice fishing trip to the original location of Inari before it was moved some time ago.   The original church still exists and was spared being burnt down by the retreating German forces in WW2.

As for the fishing,  it involved drilling a hole in the ice through which a fishing line was dropped.   We didn't catch anything but it was fun and interesting.  It was also very cold.   Extra shows me fishing


We had lunch in a hut where our guide had lit a blazing log fire.   We ate a delicious Reindeer and vegetable soup.

No Aurora today unfortunately.  It's actually snowing as we retire to bed.   Moving on to a new hotel tomorrow.
