How to build a snow church
After a few years break, a new snow church is rising in the Lappeenranta fortress by local parishes. In the 16th century, there was a wooden church in the same place. Now there is only a monument to remind us of history.
Many voluntary people are working for the project that shall be completed by Friday. On Wednesday the roof will be put in place and on Thursday it will be the turn of the ice windows, altar and decorations. Official opening service will be on Sunday evening at 6 pm.
The main image I captured at 10 am, in extras are two more photos of the progress today.
