Hadleigh Castle..

no snow in Essex, just more blue skies and freezing temperatures!

We didn't have much planned today so went to Hadleigh to get a newspaper and ended up gong for a little wander and ended up at hadleigh castle, where we'd not walked for decades!!  Was lovely being back there for the views over the thames estuary amidst the ruins, and just wondering what it would have been like as a castle in working order, much loved by King Edward III! Shame his successors didn't use it much and it was sold off in 1551 as building materials! A sad ending!
