Blue Monday

Today started off with my rescheduled visit to the physiotherapist. Following the intense hip pain in September and October I was referred by my doctor. My December appointment had to be cancelled due to ill health (not mine). I did feel a bit of a fraud today as my hip pain has eased considerably since October and I now get only occasional niggles.

In the waiting area there was some interesting light coming in through the narrow windows with blinds. The blue stood out, appropriately for “Blue Monday”. See extra.

The good news was that my hips are functioning well and all I require is some regular muscle strengthening exercises. I confess though that all the moving and twisting and resistance tests from this morning mean that both hips are aching a bit more this evening. So work to be done.

Into the city centre this afternoon to return an item that is not suitable. The cold crisp air and clear skies made for some lovely silhouettes. Not as golden colourful as another blipper’s a couple of days ago from a nearby spot but some shades of blue to fit in with today’s theme.

To the left is the Balmoral Hotel; the monument to Sir Walter Scott in the centre; and the dome of the former Forsyth’s building to the right; with the globe on the former Jenners building just beyond.

Princes Street is not what it used to be with these occupants gone, some stored boarded up, cracked pavements and so on.

Perhaps Blue Monday after all.
