There’s a direct route to my parent’s house and then there’s Kassie’s route.


This adds 50% to the walk distance but the only way to avoid being “dragged along the alley” is not to cross the main road at the easiest place.

Luckily, because it was raining later, she’s content with the direct route on the way back.
