Mrs. Cardinal
Last day before we leave so there were lots of odds and ends to do. I made breakfast to provide the energy. We both have check lists so we cover everything (i.e., stop our mail delivery, water all the plants). The wind is terrible today. Hubby said it was hard to drive when he went to run errands. My sister lost power in the middle of a big job. So glad our electric wires are underground. I made Olive Garden’s Zuppa Toscana for dinner. This female cardinal stayed at the feeder for quite awhile as I cooked. She was batted about in the wind. Shared half of the soup with Kim and Brooklyn who really like it. Billy picked up the plexiglass that hubby bought and cut for River’s train table. It fit perfectly. Hubby was so relieved. I included the photo Lauren sent us once it was all set up. River and Isla will enjoy that for many years. After completing my jobs, I fell asleep while elevating the ankle. We decided to go to 11:30 Mass tomorrow; we’ll go to Brooklyn’s 1:00 pm basketball game and then head south. Guess it is Kindle time. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Sounds like it could be getting really cold for those of us in the northern hemisphere. Stay warm and healthy folks. Thanks for visiting and leaving treats. “Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.” - Emily Dickinson
