Afternoon walk………..14:50h.
……..through the Moor Hall Estate which also includes the Hotel and Golf Club.
I reacquainted myself with my Pilates mat this morning before lunchtime, going through most of the moves which are included in our usual sessions on Wednesdays.
I always take care, making sure that I didn’t over stretch or strain.
It was a beautiful sunny, very windy cold day outside,
The birdbaths are frozen.
After lunch we went for a walk and then had a coffee at the Craft Centre.
Not many golfers out as we walked past the greens, except for a lone couple of men who were reaching the end of their session. But the light was already beginning to fade very imperceptibly.
As we were coming home the sun in the low western sky looked like a huge shining orb through the branches of the trees.
It was amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it look so big.
It will be a frosty night as it was already forming on the grass verges as we came home.
Our friend is coming to tea as usual this evening, after work.
I feel really sad that we cannot go and visit Bobbie. We would have gone this afternoon, but I rang to check if it would be ok, and was informed that there is Covid amongst the residents.
We cannot even FaceTime her as she no longer has a mobile phone and hasn’t known how to use one for a long time.
I won’t end here without saying that the “Mr Bates vs The Post Office” which was aired on National TV recently will hopefully, now, lead to a resolution and restitution to all those Post Masters up and down the land who were unfairly charged,
It had already been serialised on the radio awhile ago, and hearing it then was totally shocking.
No wonder a million or more people signed a petition to have the former Post Office boss Paula Vennells hand back her CBE.
Today, she has done so.
Everyone needs a man like Alan Bates in their life, supported by his wife as he carried on year after year fighting for justice to be done for all those who had lost everything and wanted their names to be cleared.
