Crocus leichtlinii, the very first time I have grown and flowered this rare species.  I received seed through a seed exchange in the autumn of 2020 so this is the fourth growth cycle since I sowed the seeds which is about the average for crocuses.  It's relatively small and delicate so it won't be taking it's chance in the open garden.  There are two more plants in the small pot, one of which will also flower this year.  The subtle shades of colour in the flowers is beautiful and quite distinctive .... but difficult to describe or to photograph completely accurately.

A quiet day at home apart from taking Jamie to the Health Centre and walking Meg at Rhydyronen where there's a new donkey in the paddock up the lane.   There were two but one sadly died a while back.  The owner feared losing the other older donkey too as can happen when one of a very long standing pair dies.  After a shaky start it seems that the new, younger, arrival has been accepted.

. edit. A crocus enthusiast friend has cast doubt on the name. It may well be a hybrid rather than the true species.
