In Search of Brambling

It didn’t look brilliant today, but I braved the elements for a walk. it was bitterly cold! for about three quarters of my walk, I saw little of interest but then I hit the motherlode! On one side of the road there was a large flock of Fieldfare (see extras) and on the other, a flock of my target bird for the day, Brambling. Getting decent photos was nigh on impossible; the birds were flitting around amid leaves, grass and twigs, the light was poor and my hands were too cold to hold the camera still and adjust the settings!
