Margate!

Collected Daisy at midday and we set forth for a Margate adventure. In the sunshine which was marvellous. And with a smarting wind which was less so. We parked by the lighthouse and went for a brisk walk along the huge sandy beach, Rosie was dashing about with a huge grin on her face. We found lots of sea glass that needed a good bit more time in the sea before it was going to be properly beautiful. And this sea pool which, despite the steps js apparently now a boating lake and swimmers not allowed- bloody daft. There is another pool further along though which you can still swim in but it would be a big ask to go in today!

We towelled Rosie dry, put her jumper on and set forth for fish and chips. The place with inside tables was closed so we decided we would go to the little tiny place with tables outside. The lady asked me if we were going to eat in which felt a bit odd as we were standing in a shop with room only for 4 people to stand in. No, said I. We sat in the sunshine nicely wrapped up, Rosie got a free sausage- it felt like a proper January seaside adventure. We finished up, and walked round the corner to get out of the wind a bit. And found a whole other shop with tables and chairs in with the same sign as the fish shop. You would think they might have a little sign or mention that that had a whole different place to sit in! Looked rubbish though, we were happy with our alfresco lunch.

There was a choir doing a bit of a show outside the bookshop we wanted to go to so we stood and watched them for a bit then spent some lovely time in The Margate Bookshop. I bought us both books (Olive Kitteridge for me, the Bell Jar for Daisy) and we had a nice chat with the lady.

Back to the lighthouse, we had coffees in a bar, Rosie ate her dinner and we left. A finely windy and cold day but was proper good. Love spending time with my girl. Dropped her home, came home, watched the post office horrors. An excellent day - few extras.
