Someone is Fifteen!

The days are long and 
the years are short.  So they say.
It's all a bit long!!

Ben's 15th Birthday!  It's enough to make you feel old!  Bless him, he slept pretty well with the increased melatonin and he's been quite happy and chatty about his birthday.  His favourite present was a watch from his grandma, although he was quite apologetic that it wasn't one of our presents!  We're mildly concerned the watch is turning into a bit of an obsession, he's started taking it off to fiddle with it and ask when he can change the battery and he's been checking the time on his watch against every timepiece he's come across: phones; clocks; watches etc and worrying over whether he should change the time on his watch to be more accurate.  Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I are braced for some fall out but it is sweet that he's had a happy day.  We did cake early so that we could eat it throughout the day and then came up to the hills for walking and chilling.  Small downside is that eating cake all day seems to have played havoc with his blood sugars, despite the walking and the insulin. Hopefully he won't crash in the night.
The drive up here was really weird, we left mist and fog at home and drove through glorious sunshine on the motorway and then literally drove into a cloud somewhere around Kendal, it was like a physical being!  It was cloudy/misty all the rest of the drive but then when we started our walk we kind of popped out of the top of the murk and the light was beautiful with glorious sunshine, I'll put some pics in extras :-)
Now time for settling Ben and sitting by a log burner! Happy Birthday everyone :-)
