The Bright Side

A change in the weather at last. It’s been dry and bright. The flooding of last night has subsided significantly here, and the river hasn’t burst its banks.

I was up and out early with Merlin to inspect the lie of the land and enjoy the calm after the storm. Afterwards the weather inspired me to spend time in the garden - pruning and tidying. I also brought some primroses to cheer up the flower beds when we popped to the local farm shop this afternoon.

Grateful today:
- For dry bright weather.
- For the birds singing enthusiastically.
- A beautiful orange sunset lighting up the sky and creating a warm hue across the brown landscape - the local woodland turned a gentle shade of pink! This blip was taken half an hour or so beforehand.
