St.Andrews,

Today, I have been in St Andrews dealing with several matters including refuelling the car. 

The weather remains reasonable. Today’s Blipfoto shows a well known landmark on South Street and Church Street. J and G Innes ceased trading on the 31st December after 144 years in business. As well selling books they published local newspapers. 

The building still carries the titles as can be seen in the extra photo.

They had branches in Cupar and Leven. My mother was manager of the Leven branch in the late 30’s before she worked in Kirkcaldy helping to construct aircraft components during the WW2.

I am struck by the overall gloom of the some of the  entries of 2024 and look forward to better times ahead.
