Ephemeral

This is, as always .. I think, an Éphémère, which I guess is a mayfly in English - so called in France as they only live for a day.

Today it started out promising - a warm and sunny early morning then just piddled rained all day - not hard, just constant ... This is summer!

So the chances of getting out and getting a nice insect photo or something else were dampened, to say the least - ho hum ...

Here is some sunshine for the ears - his name is Cali and he comes from near Perpignan on the Mediterranean - about an hour or so from here.

He is what can be best described in French as " un fouteur d'ambiance" - it means someone that just brings a huge atmosphere to a place - we were at a three day festival Honourble sons N°1 et N°2 and I at Argelès sur Mer - Think of Weston Super Mare then completely obliterate that image from your mind ...

Argelès is on the rocky part of the Med coast, near the Spanish Catalan border and there is a festival everty year in July - on the bill when we went (this years' doesn't look that good so we're not going) - was the Vaccines, The Foals, Two Door Cinema Club, the Supreme Arcade Fire a couple of other good acts and Cali.

The festival stages are facing a château and the backdrop is the sea - it is absolutely magical.

When Cali came on he just lit the place up - he was great (so were the others especially Two Door Cinema Club, The foals who were just out of this world and Arcade Fire ... just magical).

I hope you can somehow understand some of the lyrics as they are really great and quite acid at times - hope you enjoy it!

Today is La Fête de La Musique in France - in every hamlet, village, town and city there are bands and musicians giving performances - all free it's great, but we aren't going anywhere as N°2 honourable person has got rugby training and I have to go and fetch him .... next year ;)
