Brighter Day

The witch hazel is in flower in the garden. One of the pleasures of January. It’s been drier and brighter today, but not without heavy downpours. As I walked this evening I could sense the lighter hour. At this time of year we can become attuned to even the slightest of changes.

Today has been another day of getting the house out of its festive mode and into a state more befitting of a new year. For a moment it feels more organised and cleaner.

Grateful today:
- To Hannah for walking Merlin in the rain.
- To make vegetable soup from leftovers.
- To sense a hint of the season moving forward towards longer brighter days.
