Forest in the Hundred Acre Reserve
Norfolk Island pine trees have been planted here, but other trees have established here too so the forest resembles a natural stand. The reserve ends at the shoreline in steep cliffs where red tailed tropic birds fly in noisy groups. Some are nesting on the ground in the edge of the forest, surrounded by petrel burrows. The sea is often rough, as it is today (See extra).
Second extra: there are a number of stands of bamboo on the island. Whether for ornamental or productive use, I haven't discovered.
