The wood
I took the dogs out early before the rain set in for the rest of the day. Blip choices were therefore very limited, but I chose this painting from the dining room. It was painted by Mrs TT‘s ex father-in-law who was a member of the Royal Cambrian Academy. I particularly like it for its colour palette. He was a very talented artist who produced works very quickly. When on holiday, he would sit in a café with the family and within five minutes had produced a sketch for a postcard to send home. When stationed in India, in the Second World War, he sketched or painted depictions of the places he was billeted. Fifty years later, his son returned to India to locate the various villages and took photos of the views from exactly where he calculated his father had been sitting. The original sketches are now in a museum in India, but facsimiles and the photographs taken are now in a family album.
