Today we had a plan.......

Today's plan was................ Ann was going to go for a New Year's Day swim on this beach with her friend, Barry. Barry volunteers at the Coastguard Lookout so the NY day swim was scheduled for when he finished his shift at 2pm.

Mmmmmmm..................... best laid plans and all that.................
The weather forecast today was for heavy rain and strong winds but when I went for an early morning trek around the beaches, just look how nice it was looking on Porthgwidden Beach at about 8.30am. Ann said, 'Trixie, our weather app has lied again. It's a lovely day, we'll message Barry at about 1pm and see if his wife is coming to watch us swim. If she is, I'll ask if she can keep an eye on you for 5 mins well a swim in winter isn't going to take any longer than that is it? and you can play on the beach while I'm swimming.'

At about 10.30am it started raining and it turned very windy. At 1pm Ann messaged Barry and said, 'I don't fancy doing a NY day swim anymore'. Fortunately, Barry didn't fancy it either. Phew!!! He also sent us a photo of massive waves. So that was the end of that idea.

Instead, we have been pretty much inside all day. Ann has been writing her book, 'My Life in Lockdown', and she's finished the first draft. Yay! However, she's pretty much decided that she's not going to publish it in book form (because let's face it; who's actually going to want to read it) so she's thinking of putting it on a Blogging website. Anyone out there got any ideas of which one to use? At the moment she is looking at Blogger & Wordpress, but she's open to suggestions. It's a Diary type book with a few photos.

And in other news..................... it's still absolutely chucking it down with rain and is very, very, windy.
