An Early Warning
The shepherds’ warning was all to see this morning when I opened the blinds, but although it was -1° there was little wind to make it feel as cold as it did later on. I was lucky that it was dry when I made a quick foray into M&S to buy Brussel Sprouts- M&S do awfully good sprouts at a price though.
Once more the shop seemed inordinately empty given the weekend ahead. Stuart Bear ( don’t ask me!) and I had the café almost all to ourselves as I systematically reduced him to crumbs.
On a day like this when it feels freezing in the wind that has sprung up from the SE one would imagine a shop given over solely to ice cream would not be doing a roaring trade. Wrong! It seems that a big ice cream cone to lick is just the thing the tourists want as they rub the nose of Greyfriar’s Bobby and wish a wish as he sits patiently on his nearby plinth.
