Walked up to the Trent and then aling the Embankment with JS. This is one of the entrances to County Hall ( County Council head quarters) , next to the river. It’s a beautiful G2 listed building and I’m told stunning inside. The council announced a couple of months ago that they are going to move into a new purpose built building about 8 miles away. Unions are not happy though do it could take a while. The expectation is that this site will be developed into luxury apartments- i might be tempted!
We walked into Wilford village and had lunch at The Ferry pub there. Nice cosy old place with good pub-style food. It was raining when we left but soon stopped and we walked back across the other side Of the river. I was surprised to see how close we were to the retail park near Js house. My spatial awareness has never been that good! Also passed some of the remaining terraced streets in the Meadows and had a short history lesson about the area from JS. Had a browse in the Oliver Bonas sale on the way home but didn’t buy anything. Caught up on the ironing.
Have realised that my appetite has increased quite a lot over the last couple of days, especially for sweet things. It’s the most common side -effect of the medication I’m on , but I hope it goes away as my body gets used to the drug!
