Take these chains
A work party over at the slip. Much standing about. Though I did get a good blether with PL about his solo trip to Lindisfarne in 2022. Intending to anchor in Belhaven Bay, he unfortunately (ahem) ran aground on the Wildfire Rocks on a falling tide, and having phoned the coastguard as a precaution he found himself at the centre of an RNLI operation. The result was that he was “rescued” and taken ashore leaving his poor boat to the elements (they were happily reunited the following day on a rising tide).
Anyway, embarrassed, he breathed not a word of the incident to his dear wife. A week or so later, when he thought he had got away with it, she came to him with her iPad, brandishing an article in the East Lothian Courier. Did you see this, she said? Looks a lot like the Seawolf…. the truth was out. And regrettably, the journalist reported that the “crew" of the Edinburgh-based vessel were heading towards Holy Island but found “themselves" in trouble. Knowing PL’s wife I can understand she may well have jumped to the conclusion that he had not been alone. Poor old Phil has never been allowed away on his own since. Haw.
