Seeing Beyond Looking

Books and a Bird

The little bird ornament is one of my favourites and is made of ceramic and I've had it for many years.

The crocheted doily is also a favourite pattern and I have made this one in many different colourways.

Now for the books, these are all new and waiting for me to finish reading something on my Kindle.

- The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I read on the back cover: "A book perfectly suspended between darkness and light, myth and reality. It is, ironically, unforgettable.

- Nala's World.  Dean Nicholson left his life in Scotland to cycle around the world. He came across an abandoned kitten on a remote road in the mountains of Bosnia. He was unable to leave her to her fate and adopted the little creature, Now they are firm travelling companions. It sounds like a heart-warming story.

The book in French was given to me by one of my walking friends from our Friday morning walks. She said that it's a story which gives us a lovely warm feeling!

So these coming winter months with long evenings will provide me with plenty of reading!

All the shops over here  will be closed on January 1st and 2nd, so this morning I stocked up my fridge to last five days!  Jean will be joining me from Sunday onwards.
