Just Cruising

We have quite a lot of smaller cruise ships call at our little port during the summer months, but today there were two. The closer and smaller one is the Seabourn Odyssey 450 passengers and looks (to me) ultra modern, the one in the distance is the Noordam 1900 passengers.  .....ships, tourists, selfies
Back in 1999 we cruised Alaskan coastline in the Noordam, it certainly wasn't this one though and was much much smaller being able to get closer to the glaciers.
The town was seething with tourists which has to be great for our economy, there were busses from small to large with tourists coming and going - I believe some even head inland to Lake Tekapo and Mt Cook, that would be a big day for them but doable.

A supermarket shop was needed, once done I did a 'cruise' around the wharf and through town.  There was a large market as well which was very busy.

As can be seen Timaru was under heavy great skies.

Our Wellington family are now in Singapore Airport awaiting their flight home, they have had a magnificent four weeks.
