Everest conquered

Apart from the rooms we had been heating, this morning the house was getting close to fridge like temperatures.

The other day when the electricians came to test the wiring and switched on the boiler it worked for 10 hours before shorting the circuits again. More in hope than expectation I switched n the boiler again and it fired up. And kept going through out the day. The house is cosy again and while it may trip the system again at any time we have built up a store of warmth.

All just in time as the Lancaster family were due. They left Yorkshire before lunch. Paused at Lancaster for a couple of hours then headed up the road. They seemed to hit a window in storm Gerrit so despite some spells of rain the journey was not too bad.

After dinner our grandson decided to climb the stairs - a recently learned trick. For him the ascent must have looked daunting but he achieved it with ease and was greeted by his uncle with much celebration. Hopefully the exercise will mean he has a good sleep!
