Blue Flash

Periodically I saw a few birds flying about in small groups. Bird song came from the trees here and there, but in dim light I couldn't make them out. I waited around a while expectantly, wishing for something to happen.

And then a flash of blue. I hoped it was a bluebird which I have rarely seen and not photographed. But no, it was a blue jay. Common enough I think yet still it was a first for me. Sadly only a rear view, in the next instant it was gone.
