Boxing Day
...... a walk with a big stick?! No.2 stayed over again and we managed to get out for a muddy walk. It was our normal 'bun' walk with no buns but No.2 had not walked that route before and promised to return with H. It is scenic and has great views over the weald. He is good company but can talk for England (usually with passion about something he cares about - today ranting about Tory politicians and the situation in Gaza - wearing his pro-palestine badge). I love him to bits but did point out a conversation is a dialogue (two people) as opposed to a monologue (one person). Bless him xx
Home to get the jacket potatoes on and carve the ham and turkey, always the best meal of Christmas. Football on the tv at 1.00 as it was an away game and they could not get tickets. We ate at half time and they watched their team lose (again). Slow afternoon watching an old film with the cat on my lap. Such a contrast to No.1's Christmas which is full of people and games and quizzes and I'm hoping they are ready for a rest when they get to us tomorrow. I always feel coming to our house must be such a boring let down for JC but we are who we are?
