Another Languedoc year...

Peanuts

Heartily sick of paying lots for my mobile phone each month, I asked the advice of fellow blippers and did lots of research on't interweb.

Outcome: I decided to keep my iPhone, but I unlocked it so it'd take a sim card from a different provider. Then I signed up for Free's 2 euros a month deal ($2.65 or £1.70). My mum's been on it for a couple of years and it's worked a treat. 2 hours of calls to most of Europe and unlimited texts per month for a silly two euros. OK, I don't have e-mails popping into my inbox when I'm out of wifi range any more, but I'm sure I can manage without that. Frankly I don't make that many long calls and I can do that for nothing at home anyway. So I'm thrilled. What's more, I have a much stronger signal now than I had on my expensive SFR deal. Good eh?

PS I was able to take my old number with me, Free organised the cancellation of my previous account and it took just three working days. Bingo.
