Lunch is served!
We had a lovely morning with the kids opening their gifts...they loved everything they were given! Thanks to a day of prepping yesterday today's tasks were simpler... We got cooking for the lunch and at midday Claire showed up with the sausages and stuffing, and set to pouring Cava for us all. Nick turned up with the roast potatoes! We all got serving up the dishes as fast as we could and headed to the plaza to meet our friends. 40 meals went easily which was wonderful (thanks for praying Gill!). Wonderful to have the afternoon with the guys, plus a few homeless guys we didn't know before but saw what was happening and joined in. Also a few people who shared the day with us not because they were homeless but were feeling alone... A gorgeous atmosphere. Nate enjoyed doing drinks for people. In many ways I think this was our most stress-free Christmas we've done out of the 6 years. Relaxed, enjoyable, fun.
We're home and all the cleaning up is done, Nick's here for a drink, the kids are playing Lego, and I'm breathing out that the day went well.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) The kids mucking in and helping out in lots of different ways.
2) So much laughter this afternoon, and new people met.
3) The amount of gorgeous Christmas messages I've got to respond to!!
Happy Christmas you lovely blippers...
