Christmas Day 2023

Christmas Day and the weather gods have got it all wrong in this neck of woods. There’s heavy rain  and the world is black, saturated in water. 
However the early birds did get  worms today. Daughter#1 hired a car from the Car Club and we took ourselves off to Porty at first light for a dook before the rain started. We were not alone, there were others keen to mark the day in cold sea water. What a difference getting home in a heated car it is to standing waiting for a bus. 
After picking  up Porty daughter and having coffee, we drove to David and Luca’s for drinks and a light lunch. They had the house decorated very beautifully and  had prepared a selection of homemade blinis topped with caviar followed by an almond dessert.

Presents were exchanged  and we left in time for daughter#1 to pick up her daughter.
It’s been a different Christmas Day but a lovely one. 
I have washed the sand out of everything and have retired to the Man Cave to do justice to a can of gin and tonic.
