Abandon All Hope
A Christmas Eve brunch first thing (for us) along at Mimi’s where we were treating the daughter and family. It didn’t get off to the best start as they headed to the Comely Bank Mimi’s while we were sitting at The Shore. Still, we soon had that sorted out and before long we were all seated together. Just in time for the minky to begin acting like a princess, and not in a good way. Sometimes I’m sure we all forget she’s only three and so therefore not really fully emotionally developed. Haw.
So, that was us pretty well finished for the day though I did nip over to the club to haul down the flags as old GC’s funeral had passed. Begob, but it was blowy.
A film was called for and by mutual consent Maestro was viewed. I’ve got to say, I totally loved it. What an astonishingly great watch. Just beautiful and blimey, it hits hard when you least expect it. Bravo etc etc.
And finally, the watch night service. Having enjoyed it every year with its simple format of the favourite hymns interspersed with short readings, we were less than delighted to find that the Meenister has decided to make it more…. fun. Dreadful. I think five year olds might like it. Those that are more emotionally developed than herself.
Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
