Dramatic Golden Hour Sky

I went with Son#2 and his partner for a walk at the Rising Sun Country Park this afternoon, and we were treated to this rather super view of the golden-hour sky from the top of the hill. By chance a bird flew across at just the right time to add some more interest.

This morning my Editor and I had braved the supermarket for our final top-up food shop before Christmas. We thought by going today we'd avoid the likely worse crowds tomorrow or Sunday - however it seemed everyone else had the same idea! It even took a while to find a vacant slot in the big carpark. Fortunately they had all the checkouts manned (or should one say "peopled" these days?!) so we didn't have to queue for long. And we were entertained beautifully by the Cathedral Choir who were carol-singing in the foyer - there's a quick grab shot in the extra taken on my phone (it was too busy to linger to get a better shot!). Some of the expressions are great!

This evening we're leaving our son & partner holding the fort while we drive part-way to Lincoln, as my Editor's cousin & her hubby have their golden wedding party at lunchtime tomorrow (my Editor was bridesmaid those 50 years ago). Their actual wedding was on 21st December...apparently at the time various comments were made about their honeymoon starting on the longest night...! ;-))
