Blue Skies in December

A wild day of gales, sunshine and  some snow.  Schools closed due to high winds, and buses suspended in the morning.

Up early, the gales didn't seem as bad as predicted, but Scalloway is sheltered.  Headed out walkies after breakfast, and popped by Madeline's for a cuppa.  Nipped into Lerwick for some shopping, bumped into friends too.  Another late shift in the airport.  Our mornings flights had been cancelled before I arrived, due to the weather, and we had a couple of wind related delays.  Then the snow arrived. A couple more delays due to de-icing.  Popped by Laura's on my way home, a house full and mam in too.  Feet up by the fire tonight.

A windy morning with 70mph winds, but it was mostly a nice morning, with the odd wintery shower passing over.  It certainly has been a mixed day of weather, ending up with heavy snow at times.  When I arrived in town, the sun peeked over the clouds and a golden glow came across the houses. I quickly pulled over, a quick snap incase I missed it.  Looking north from Sletts Park, Lerwick.
