Cornish manky old balls

Today has been all about doing chores...................

First thing this morning I went for my walk on Porthmeor Beach. The tide was all the way in so there wasn't really much room for me to play, but I still had a good time running around and rolling on my back.

The day went a bit downhill once we got home because Ann said, 'Trixie, I'm going to wash all your Cornish manky old balls.' I was a bit sad because I know that if my manky old balls get washed, it means I'm going to have to give them away. Yesterday I went for a really nice walk that the 'National Animal Welfare Trust' organised. The little doggies in their care aren't as lucky as me, so I have to give all the manky old balls that I've collected during the last year to them for Christmas. Just look how nice and clean they look now. Having said that................ I've still got nine manky old balls that Ann didn't even bother washing because they have chunks eaten out of them and they are beyond manky, so no amount of washing will turn them into balls that could be given away. I've got a feeling that Ann is gradually going to throw them away so I'm going to have to keep a special watch on them?!!!

Next job was writing Christmas cards. My human, not me. I just had snooze time in my bed. Apparently the last posting date for second class stamps is tomorrow. Does anyone else think that it's getting earlier and earlier each year and actually, while we're on the subject of stamps; is there really a difference between posting something first or second class these days? Surely this dates back from the days when there were two deliveries a day. The first would be around 7am and the second around 11.30am. In Edinburgh our postie doesn't come till about 5pm??!! Oh and does anyone else remember that the week before Christmas, the local Scouts would deliver local cards for a small fee. Does that still happen or was that stopped long ago due to H&S reasons?

After the Christmas card writing, I continued to have snooze time and Ann re-painted a small section of our bathroom ceiling which seems to be developing mould/mildew. She hasn't made a very good job of it, so will have to rectify it at a later date. To be honest, if she lived here all the time, she'd probably just leave it for a while, but when one is renting out ones home to strangers, everything has to be perfect.

Next job was putting up some Christmas snowflake lights at the front of the house. It's dark now and they're looking lovely. And then she swept up all the moss that had fallen off the roof onto our sun terrace and did a bit of tidying up there. Can't imagine that Ann is going to be spending much time on the sun terrace in the next month or so, but I love just sitting outside and taking in the air, so we want it to be nice.

Went for my afternoon walk to post the Christmas cards and deliver the local ones and then I went down to Porthminister Beach for a play. By this time the tide was all the way out so I had loads of room to play.

Once home, my human watched two episodes of the Crown (only another two to go now). And that's been our day...................... Apparently we're going to spend the evening watching the final two episodes of the Crown.

…...........And then for the next three days my human is going to be doing three, five hour shifts at the 'Pool Club'. She likes it there (and obviously the money will come in handy), but by the time she's walked me for a couple of hours a day, there's not going to be much time left for her to do anything else is there?
