Headphone Heartbreak (Victoria To Bromley South)

Had a very busy day at work today due to the other paintings photographer having the day off. It did mean, however, that the day flew past and I was soon on the train home. I was really tired so on the first part of my journey home as far as Bromley South I decided to pop my headphones on to listen to some soothing music to relax me - and then it happened, they snapped!
They only cost me £40 or so but they have been my lifeline on my rush hour trains because I've found them more and more claustrophobic and stressful as they are now so much busier than a few months ago (and often late into the bargain).
Speaking of late trains the concluding second part of the journey home involves the train to Ashford International which I always prefix with "the never knowingly on time" moniker. On time trains go to die at Bromley South. I reckon 90 - 95% of all trains going to and from there are late. In an attempt to massage their punctuality figures this 18.12 train has now become the 18.13. Unfortunately, it didn't get off to a good start - it was eight minutes late arriving!
I stepped off that last train of the week and met my brother and we headed to our village for a drink at The Chequers. After having a bit of difficulty parking the car we passed a big crowd carol singing in the square. It was so lovely to hear. The pub was lively and everyone seemed in good spirits as, were we. The rest of the evening was great food, a glass or two of wine and some great telly. Perfect.
