Victory

We were invited to nearby neighbours for a relaxed lunch today. Although in the next street we’ve not had a good catch up for some time. It was a very enjoyable time with the warmth of the welcome and the physical warmth. (Hopefully an electrician is coming to us on Monday to test the heating circuits: better to do that before a new boiler goes in.)

Our host enjoys model making. This is his version of HMS Victory: 4 years in the making. He is now starting on a greenhouse where he is also making the plants to go inside.

The extra is of their Christmas village scene with added military additions inserted by their (now adult) children. I don’t know who has the victory in that fight.

Back home in time for one of my wife’s goddaughters to arrive for an overnight visit. Lots more chat over dinner.

As we flicked channels on catch up later in the evening we caught a few minutes of Graham Norton where Jack Lowden was being interviewed about his practice of designing Christmas villages. This is clearly a decoration thing I have missed! No military figures visible in his though.
