In need of repointing!

It was still raining at 9 am so today's walk was cancelled. It did brighten up a little later so I went for a walk up to the belvedere and then through the woods to the old furnace. The village has many vestiges of previous mining activity. This is one of the furnaces that prepared the extracted mineral by driving off impurities before sending it down the valley to blast furnaces. Except for that, I had a quiet day doing a little packing and reading my book.
