Stirling Castle in the rain

After two changes of ferry departure time, we managed to cross to the mainland with the camper van for a couple of days away. The weather was very wet and driving eastwards was not pleasant. However, being a damp, grey Sunday in winter, the roads were not too busy and we managed to reach our campsite just outside Edinburgh before dark. Interestingly, we were close to the approach path for aircraft heading for Edinburgh airport and as I walked Bertie in the dusk I watched the landing lights of plane after plane appear out of the murk in the west, each one becoming a more identifiable flying object as it dropped in height, preparing for touchdown.
