Patriotic Flash
Royal Ascot today and a splendid time was had by all!
My win of £120 paled into insignificance when we returned to our car to find the people next to us celebrating a win of £195,200 on a 'tricast' - by naming the first three horses in the correct order in a race.
When horses summer coats are gleaming, it is possible to create patterns by brushing the hair in different directions. These are known as flash marks.
The Union Jack, seen here, would have been made using a stencil, whereas the sharks' teeth on the horses thigh would have been created freestyle.
The colour of this horse was that of a polished conker.
Start by brushing the horse's hair horizontally, then place the chosen stencil on the horse, then with a damp brush, brush the hair vertically and it's done!
